Moving to Austin has been one of my best, but challenging times of my life. It has almost been a year and I finally feel like I am starting to get my life uprooted across the country from my closest loved ones.
To be honest, graduating and moving away from your family hits you harder than you think it might. I couldn’t wait to get up and leave for a big city. But what I didn’t think about, was when I would actually see my loved ones after that point. Turns out, when you live almost 2,000 miles away from your safety net, it’s a lot harder than living 120 miles away.
BUT, since moving to Austin almost a year ago, I’ve gotten many requests of go-to places to check out. Inquiries from stellar brunch restaurants to day drinking places, Austin has it all. Austinites love our food, drinks, and an eventful Sunday Funday out in the sun (not to mention, shopping).
I am a huge creature of habit. So, since moving down to Texas, I’ve found a few places that have me wrapped around their finger. Naturally, since I am a coffee junkie, I scouted out the best coffee shops in Austin first thing. To be entirely honest with you guys, Austin has blown my coffee expectations out of the water. For instance, Medici has the best coffee I have EVER tasted.
For any of you that are interested in checking out Austin, feel free to use my Austin’s Guide for Everything. I list out my favorite coffee, shopping, drinking, desserts, restaurants, and just about everything else.
I hope you get into some Sunday Funday trouble, but make it to brunch in the morning to cheers over bottomless mimosas.
