My Productive Morning Routine

Productive Morning Routine

For starters – I am a HUGE morning person, making a productive morning routine one of my favorite things to geek out on.

I actually sit in bed every night tossing and turning at the thought of what it will feel like taking that first sip of coffee that next early morning. I know, I’m an absolute freak, but I love this about me.

Wake Up and Bake Up

Once 5-6 am rolls around every morning, and yes – even the weekends, I normally sit on Instagram until I am fully updated on everyone’s lives. This isn’t the best habit, but sadly, this one has been hard for me to break. By then, I get up outta bed and mozy on over to the bathroom to start the same routine I have had for years. I brush my teeth, do my skincare and makeup routine, hair, put on a boss outfit for the day, and proceed to the kitchen.

Every morning I have an urge to go straight to the kitchen the second I wake up to grab water, food, or coffee, yet this is the worst thing to do – at least for me. I end up sitting on the couch binge-watching YouTube videos or reading, not wanting to get up and make myself presentable. Why not stay in pjs all day?

This puts me in a bad mood before even starting the first hour of my morning.

Making myself wait to eat or drink anything until I am done getting ready actually entices me to put myself together in thirty minutes or under – ultimate game-changer.

Once I have picked the perfect outfit to give me that pep in my step, I go to the kitchen and drink a large, and I mean LARGE, glass of water with five Superfood Pills to get my greens in before 7 am. Then, it’s coffee time BABBEYYYYYYY!!!

That Good Juice Flow

I always make the same coffee concoction evvvveryyyy morning- an oat milk cold brew or oat milk drip depending on the weather. Considering Austin is still in the 90’s, cold brew has been my go-to.

Oat Milk Cold Brew Recipe:

  1. I add two scoops of the Vital Proteins Collagen Powder with a little bit of hot water to dissolve correctly.
  2. Then I add either 8 ounces of the Chameleon Cold-Brew Concentrate or 4-6 ounces of the Trader Joe’s Cold-Brew Concentrate depending on what I have and how strong I want it to be.
  3. Top this with Oatly Oatmilk until you get that lattey kinda color (or whatever you prefer).
  4. Add a couple of ice cubes and a straw & you’re ready to go!

For hot:

  1. I put two scoops of the same collagen in a mug.
  2. Make a large cup of coffee with my Keurig using a dark roast K-cup.
  3. Add a touch of Oatly Oatmilk – since this can cool your drink down a tad, don’t overdo this one (or do).
  4. & bam! You’re ready to rock and roll.

Depending on how I am feeling that day, I will either intermittent fast until lunchtime, which is between 11 am and 12 pm for me, or I will have oats. Oatmeal is great at keeping me full all morning, but it also is a little too heavy every once in a while – opting for fasting on those days.

Regular Protein Oats:

  1. I add one packet of the Trader Joe’s single oatmeal packets topped with hot water.
  2. Then sprinkle in a little cardamom powder on top, which I sometimes put in my coffee too – absolute fav and most definitely underrated.
  3. Add about a tablespoon and a half of the Trader Joe’s Chunky Almond Butter with no added salt.
  4. And cut up a banana on top and wow, so good, yet so simple.

While I eat I will either be working on my laptop publishing a post for Blogtober and sharing on my social accounts, or I will read a book – my favorite option. Especially when I am reading something that is inspirational, like the book I’ve been reading this last week – Earn It by Mike Brezezinski & Daniela Pierre-Bravo

Reading material that goes over success stories and how to better your everyday life really can set a positive tone for the day. This always gets my blood pumping, itching to get in the office and do the best job I can in any given situation – making this one of the most crucial parts to my morning routine.

Workidy Workidy

Once 7-7:15 am rolls around, I make my way into work. Since this is still pretty early, it doesn’t take me more than 15 minutes in Austin traffic. I go in, log onto my computer and, if possible, catch up on articles in the industry I am working in at the time, and deep dive into the projects I need to get done that day.

This routine covers all my bases; optimizing my health from nourishing my body correctly, getting my brain up and going, catch up to speed on news related work topics, and overall readiness for a successful day.

Later this Blogtober I will be covering what deep work is and the tools/products I use to get me in this state of mind.

Understanding what gets you going when creating your morning routine can help you live up to your full potential. Constantly growing your mind and being the best you can be every day not only shows success at work, but also, your overall happiness.

They say, if you are comfortable, you are doing something wrong – and I completely agree.

Until tomorrow,
