Everyday Makeup Routine for Busy-Bee’s

Honestly, I have had the same makeup routine since my freshman year of college. I am that girl that doesn’t like trying new things mainly because everything I try doesn’t seem to be better or even the same in comparison to my holy grails I implemented into my life two years ago. By all means, why change something that is performing well in the first place?

I’ll go through all the products that I use in the order that I apply them to my face along with all the brushes and extras that I use through the process/in preparation:

Step 1:

Always hydrate your skin: I normally apply the Clinique Face Oil when I get out of the shower at night to leave my face glowing when I apply my makeup in the morning. Choosing a face oil over face lotions is hard to dictate. I have pretty dry skin that’s extremely sensitive when it comes to face washes/lotions and any other product I decide to use on my skin. This oil has been working for me ever since I got it a year ago, it is a little on the pricier side for me, but worth it.

Step 2:

Along with applying face oil, upon waking up I refresh myself with the Mario Rose Spray for extra hydration/glow after a good night or even a bad night of sleep.

Step 3:

For my base I use the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream, this product is a blessing. I have been using it for YEARS. Whenever I decide to branch out of my box and use another product I always come crawling back to this one. Dare you to try it once, you’ll never wanna go back. I apply this with my Eco Tools Complexion Brush or my Real Techniques Beauty Blender depending if I want an airbrushed look or more of a dewy look.

Step 4:

For concealer, I have been using Covergirl Outlast, and it’s my favorite currently.. but I still think there is something better out there. I should just say it is a good drugstore concealer, it gets the job done and doesn’t crease (which is rare for me), but the lightest shade isn’t “brightening” enough for my Montana white skin that I gotta deal with. It still ends up being my go-to mainly because it doesn’t crease. I reach for myIT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer for a going out look to brighten up them under eyes. I just apply these with a damp Real Techniques Beauty Blender.

Step 5:

IT Cosmetics really is killing the game with their face products considering this is the third item I’m mentioning from them that I absolutely love. I set my under eyes and T-zone with their loose setting powder. I am definitely not one to bake very often because I have such dry skin, but I hate the look of shine on my forehead and under eye creasing. To help from that I lightly brush a tinyyyyy bit of this powder under my eyes and my T-zone with a Real Techniques brush just in the morning.

Step 6:

My bronzer of choice has been broadcasted by what seems to be everybody on the internet… Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, but everything they say about this product is true. It is the perfect everyday bronzer. If I want to contour for an event or going out I use Too Faced Chocolate Soleil in Medium. I apply both these bronzers withReal Technique Brushes as well!

Step 7:

I am always into the mauve colors when it comes to lips and blush. There are various types of blush that I like, but lately, I have been reaching for the Covergirl Baked Blush in the color Medium Rose. I use a Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply this product as well! Are you seeing a trend in brushes yet?

Step 8:

Get dat highlighhhhht… I must say I am not one to have an overpowering strobe light on my face at all times, I don’t care that much. I have been applying my Makeup Revolution Gold Addict with the E.L.F. fan brush ever since I started implementing a highlighter in my everyday routine. It is super inexpensive and gives the perfect everyday glow to your cheekbones!

Step 9:

On to eyebrows, my favorite part! I have been using Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow every since I started drawing in my eyebrows back in 7th grade. I always use the 7B brush they make, complementing each other perfectly. It draws such a beautiful brow stroke, it killlllls me. To set my brows I just use the Maybelline Brow Mascara, and I must say this product isn’t something I would rave about but I haven’t gone out on a whim and got another product for years. It is under $10 and adds life to my brows without fibers or anything too special or over the top.

Step 10:

I honestly hate using mascara, falsies are my favorite hands down. I got my lashes done for about 6 months straight and I thought I would let them breathe a little, resulting to stripe lashes until my lashes grew back healthier. I always use the Ardell Double Up Wispies, I can’t rave about this product more. If I’m not wearing falsies of some sort I curl my eyelashes and apply my favorite mascara combo: Loreal Lash Primer & Maybelline Lash Sensational. Perfect, perfect combo!

And that is it, simple as that! Some people think it is weird that I don’t use a setting spray…. call me crazy I know! That is just the everyday routine that works for me, even lasting through my sweaty workouts (for the most part).

Until next time beauties,
