Have you ever hit burnout, or even come close to it? Well, I sure did.
Surprisingly enough, this was something I didn’t even recognize until a couple months ago. Yet, I think I’d been battling with it for about a year.
Throughout high school and college, I had always been working. I had worked up to three different jobs while attending school full-time. Post-college, I think my body thought it would be like retirement. That I’d be able to kick back and make money. That was definitely not the case, and it shouldn’t ever be that way.
Once you get a “big kid” job, that’s supposed to be your time to shine and invest yourself in your passion. Long story short, I didn’t have the energy to do anything.
I took over a month off of work, yet still didn’t feel great. I got a job and took a week-long vacation to relax and still didn’t feel great. I did it again, STILL wasn’t able to hit reboot on my motivation. Aside from spilling the beans on an awkward work-life balance story, I talk about my favorite tips and tricks to combating burnout and getting out of a rut.
Turns out, simply changing my background homescreen did the trick. I KNOW, it sounds so weird (awkward).
If you’ve ever experienced burnout, or would like to avoid it all costs, tune in to hear my ten best practices. Not only has this changed my productivity, I totally switched my mindset. I was once again eager to learn more, actually perform in my position, and improve the relationships around me.
